I was getting so freaked out waiting to hear from the vets about Pooka's condition that I just went up there this eve and asked for some visiting time with my buddy. His test results are still ominous ... but otherwise he was his old self again! Purring and mellow and friendly! I feel so much better now that I have had a cuddle with the poor guy.

Still, I couldn't get him to eat, and that's bad ... but they will probably let me take him home tomorrow anyway ... and then I am taking him for a second opinion. Somewhere cheaper.

I know! what upsets me the most about that is that I could have brought him home two or three days earlier, but for communication problems with the vet. He left a message at the WRONG NUMBER three times, not because he didn't have my home number, but because he had stapled the ultrasound report on top of my number!!! meanwhile I was phoning the clinic every day, making the receptionist think I was this fussy lady, and never getting the full report! even when I went in to visit, no-one said you can take him home. finally I was in such a panic, imagining that he was never going to make it home again, that I went up there with five kinds of delicious cat treats, and offered them to Pooka one by one, and when we came to the can of tuna he chowed down, and the vet was happy and we went home. and he didn't charge me for all those days of hospitalization either. guilt pays off!! but meanwhile Pooka is still suffering from the stress, on top of the liver tumour. I am spoiling him rotten!
